5 Ways to Use Digital Signage for Small Business

Here are fives ways to use Promota for your small business.


1. Cast promotions to a TV.

With Chromecast-enable digital signage, you're able to cast your signboards to any display with an HDMI port. Casting in-store can help limited-time specials or time-sensitive products get more attention and exposure than they would otherwise.

With our April update, you can now cast to multiple displays and continue casting from far away. Tap the button below to use our free app.


To Cast:

i. Set up Chromecast with each display. If you happen to have an LG Smart TV, you can skip this step.

ii. Create and save a Digital Sign or Slideshow.

iii. Select one and tap Cast.

iv. Pick a display to send your signage to. Voila, your promotion will appear on-screen.


2. Display your specials on an iPad.

After seeing that many users didn't have access to a TV or monitor, we added Fullscreen Mode. Signboards and slideshows can enter full-screen, no-sleep mode and be shown directly on an iPad device. From there, you can prop the iPad on a counter,

To Play Fullscreen:

i. Download the Promota app on your iPad device.

ii. Create and save a Digital Sign or Slideshow.

iii. Select one and tap Fullscreen.

iv. The app will enter full-screen, no sleep mode and play continuously until you exit out or run out of battery. We recommend plugging in your charger!


3. Share your signboards to social media.

More than half of small business owners in the U.S. rely on social media as their main marketing technique because of its effectiveness for finding and connecting with new customers. A whopping 52% of small businesses post to social media every day, 79% weekly, and 94% monthly. When they do post, the breakdown is:

- 54% use images and infographics

- 52% offers and promotions

- 49% reviews

- 44% videos

- 40% blog posts.

With this in mind, we made it possible to share digital signs directly to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

To share:

i. Create and save a Digital Sign or Slideshow.

ii. Select one and tap Share.

iii. Choose a platform to share to. For a chance to get featured on our social media, include the hashtag #MadeWithPromota.

4. Feature real customers and clients to build trust and loyalty.

When clients and customers post pictures and reviews online, share their content in-store or online. Testimonials are a great way to build credibility. When customers and clients see their feedback featured, it builds trust and encourages others to do the same.

To make a feature:

i. In the Discover tab, find our feature templates.

ii. Create, edit and save as a Digital Sign or Slideshow.

iii. Display it in-store or share to social media.

5. Make a blog or channel cover.

All templates have a 16:9 aspect ratio, making them ideal for blog covers, Youtube channel art, and Facebook business page cover photos.

If you run a blog, Facebook page, or youtube channel for your business, take advantage of Promota's design features. Choose between Modern, Industrial, Antique, Ethnic, and Pop Art styles and save time on design work.

To make a cover:

i. Create and save a Digital Sign.

ii. Select Fullscreen and enter fullscreen mode.

iii. Take a screenshot on your phone.

iv. Add it as a cover photo.
