Promota 2.7.11 or lower version support termination guide

Hello, I'm Promota.

Apple Store's iOS13 or later support policy has identified security issues with iOS12 and Promota 2.7.11 and earlier.

As a result, we would like to inform you that support for Promota 2.7.11 or below will be terminated from February 22, 2021

※Promota updates the app periodically to improve the bug fix and use environment.
We recommend using the latest version.

Workaround in case of streaming error notification

2020.11.05

First of all, we apologize for the inconvenience.

When casting as a TV / monitor
If you get a streaming error notification, we'll let you know how to fix it.

1. Delete an error-prone device from the list (you do not need to delete the Google Home device list)
2. Wi-Fi connection from smartphone to network connected to Chromecast/ WebOS TV
ex) Name of the wireless network to which the Chromecast is connected: MYHOME
Connecting MYHOME networks from your smartphone
3. Re-register your device by rescanning in the Casting menu in the Promota app

※ For those who use iPhone iOS14 or higher,
Settings - Wi-Fi - Click the ⓘ button next to the Wi-Fi name you are connected to - Disable Personal Address

If it doesn't work out, please email us at admin@promota.net and we'll help you.

End of support on Android v5.0 below devices

Due to the Android policy changes, Promota App may not support the latest version in some Andorid devices.

To provide a more stablized service, we ask for your understanding of our decision.

After the due date, you will no longer be able to update the latest version of Promota App to Android devices with below 5.0 version. Also, Promota App may not be available in the future following Promota policies.

Therefore, for the best experience, we recommend you to update your Android to the latest version.

Important updates about the California Consumer Privacy Act

In support of upcoming changes to data privacy laws, we’re making a few updates to our Privacy Policy.

Here’s a quick summary of the changes:

  • CCPA. The upcoming California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) places new obligations on organizations that collect personal information of California consumers. As a result, we’re updating our Privacy Policy to include a description of additional rights granted by CCPA and provide California consumers with required disclosures about the collection of personal information.

End of support on iOS 13 below devices

Due to the iOS policy changes, Promota App may not support the latest version in some iPhones/iPads.

To provide a more stablized service, we ask for your understanding of our decision.

For more information, please check followings:

- iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
- iPhone 5S (and older)
- 2013 iPad Air ([2019 10.5-inch iPad Air] will be able to run iOS 13)
- iPad Mini 3
- iPad Mini 2
- iPod Touch (sixth generation and older)

[Due date for action]
- March 5, 2020

After the due date, you will no longer be able to update the latest version of Promota App to iPhone/iPad with below iOS 13. Also, Promota App may not be available in the future following Promota policies.

Therefore, for the best experience, we recommend you to update your OS to the latest version.
